HIPAA-Compliant "Safe" & Convenient Telemedicine Consultations
Centers of excellence refers to our personalized focus areas at the hospitals and offices where we are located. This expertise led by Dr. Steven Vasilev MD spans gynecologic cancers and highly specialized gynecology needs of patients with advanced endometriosis, pelvic masses, ovarian cysts and related cancers. We use a very special combination of minimally invasive robotic surgery, precision medicine based on molecular sciences and holistic integrative healing.
Dr. Steve Vasilev and his team provide comprehensive individualized treatment for endometrial cancer related to endometriosis, even into menopausal years where endometriosis can still persist. We are widely recognized for state-of-the-art personalized care and provide treatment plans that are tailored to the tumor type, your overall health and specific situation and needs. Initially minimally invasive robotic surgery is offered in most cases, even when the uterine cancer is advanced.
We combine highly technical care with a personal touch. This includes integrative cancer-fighting complementary guidance, nutrition and holistic support.
Specifically Related to Endometriosis
Excisional surgery for advanced endometriosis is best practice and is now THE focus of our expertise. We use state-of-the-art robotics with superior optics and precision instruments for less trauma and faster recovery, followed by integrative healing advice and guidance. We have established the Lotus Endometriosis Institute to focus on diagnosis, treatment, teaching and research in this underserved area of need.
Early and advanced ovarian cancer treatment is grounded in minimally invasive surgery, followed by personalized medical therapy and integrative healing into a thriving survivorship. Endometriosis can rarely (1%) transform into cancer, or increase the risk of ovarian cancer, and we specialize in that evaluation and treatment as well.
Ovarian cysts are best treated with prevention, which is largely related to natural lifestyle choices. Some cysts are not cysts, but are actually tumors (both cancer and benign) and need minimally invasive surgical treatment. Determining which is what we do for you, including and focusing on endometrioma-type endometriosis.
Endometriosis and endometrial cancer are usually separate entities. Endometrial cancer is usually a postmenopausal disease, but 5-10% occur in women under forty. The main clinical link is through shared estrogenic and inflammatory pathways and, rarely, malignant transformation of endometriosis into ovarian cancers, not uterine endometrial cancer. But if a younger patient with endometriosis develops abnormal uterine bleeding, evaluation for endometrial hyperplasia or cancer should be considered, especially if risk factors like obesity, PCOS, or Lynch syndrome are present. We have you covered in this specific area of uterine cancers.
